Glass Hood
The Glass Hood is made up of three parts: Ring base, glass hood and snuffer lid.
The Glass Hood is handmade from high-quality borosilicate glass. It protects the flame from the wind. The brilliant glass reflects the vivid flame and intensifies the effect of the light. Used with the Glass Hood the Waxburner gives off a warm, romantic light. The Glass Hood prevents accidental contact with the flame and keeps children and adults safe. If the Waxburner is working correctly, the glass will become warm, but not hot. There is no risk of burns if the Waxburner is touched. Place the snuffer lid supplied onto the opening of the base ring to extinguish the flame. You can do this without removing the Glass Hood.
The Glass Hood does not protect against moisture penetration. Water in the bowl can prevent the Waxburner from working properly and cause damage in icy conditions. The Waxburner and Glass Hood must be stored in a dry place where they are safe from frost.
If required, the Glass Hood and the ceramic parts can be washed in the dishwasher or by hand using washing-up liquid.
Technical device
The Waxburner is a technical device. To maintain correct functioning, simple maintenance work is necessary from time to time. These easy-to-perform actions are described in the enclosed manual.
Wax fuel
The Waxburner can only be used with wax. Beeswax contains organic ingredients that can interfere with wax transport and cause more soot to build up. The type, quality and ingredients of the wax affect how the Waxburner functions and can make more frequent maintenance necessary. You will find information about the different wax types in the enclosed candle guide.
