Radiant heat improves well-being
Radiant heat feels very pleasant. The Thermal Cover converts the flame of the Waxburner into radiant heat. Heat-resistant CeraFlam® ceramic absorbs energy and radiates it via the surface as gentle radiant heat. CeraFlam® stores approx. 3 x more heat than steel, so it stays warm even after the flame has been extinguished.
How does the thermal effect work?
A flame radiates energy to all sides. This heats up the air in the room, but the air rises and becomes trapped under the ceiling, so the feeling of warmth is lost. The Thermal Cover traps the energy and converts it into radiant heat you can feel. Plus, the cover directs the heated air back down so that it warms the immediate environment. This makes targeted use of the heat.
How much heat is generated?
The Waxburner Indoor gives off around 100 watts of thermal energy per hour, as much as around 10 – 13 tea lights. With one filling, the Waxburner will generate a total of around 1.25 kilowatt-hours in 12 hours.
The Thermal Cover isn’t intended to replace your heating. It makes the light from the Waxburner even cosier and can support your heating, depending on the size of the room.
How is the warmth effective?
Put the Thermal Cover in the middle of your dining table or on the coffee table. The heat will radiate upwards at 180°. You will get more radiant heat if you are sitting higher up. The radiant heat feels especially pleasant on your hands and face. The closer you are, the more intense the heat. Please note that there is a risk of burning if you touch the Waxburner.
How safe is it?
The Thermal Cover must only be used in conjunction with an Waxburner Indoor. Temperatures of up to 160° C can be reached at its highest point. Please note that there is a risk of burning if you touch the Waxburner. The stand and the legs of the steel frame only become warm during use. The Thermal Cover is constructed to prevent overheating of the wax and uncontrolled burning.
Cleaning
You can wash the ceramic and the frame by hand or put them in the dishwasher. You can also use oven cleaner or soot remover if necessary.
